Dr Ian Webster was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He did his undergraduate and post-graduate medical degrees at the University of Cape Town/Groote Schuur Hospital. He was the first Dermatologist to bring skin laser surgery to Southern Africa and underwent a period of post-graduate training in laser surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
 
Dr Webster has been in private practice as a Specialist Dermatologist in Somerset West, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa since 1992. He was also the first Skin Specialist (and Medical Practitioner) to develop an online cosmeceutical skincare store, Dermastore® in South Africa in April 2015. All the products are expertly curated and selected by Dr Webster.
 
He regularly writes articles for Dermastore® and for the media where he shares his vast clinical experience of working with leading international and local brands. He also provides continuous training for the skin therapist in his Dermatology practice and for the online skin therapists at Dermastore® .

Over the years he has been a guest on numerous radio and television shows and is a regular participant on Dermastore® podcasts.
 
He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, general skin diseases and laser treatments. With his many years of expertise, he is able to offer a variety of products, procedures and treatments.

In his spare time, Dr Webster enjoys hiking, mountain biking and playing padel in the beautiful Cape Winelands. He is also a keen birder (using the visual pattern recognition skills found in Dermatology helps with this interest) and he has a great love of the African bush. He finds nature is the best antidote for his busy but fulfilled professional life.
